The staple dessert of the 1960s: Jello moulds

In 1969 Richard Bernstein painted a series of Jello Hearts in an array of colors: black, pink mixed with blue, red, purple, pink, and orange. Of all the Jello mould shapes Bernstein chose the heart, symbolizing the affection he had for his mother who made these for him as a child.
